On Friday 2 June at Ashburton Uniting Church Tennis Club’s 70th birthday celebrations, long serving Secretary Sue Haviland was recognised with a Tennis Service Award.

Sue has been a member of the club since 1977 playing weekend and mid-week ladies’ competition for over 30 years. Off the court she served as Secretary for 22 years and has been a key contributor to the long-term success of the tennis club.

Sue’s roles included minute taking, setting up online membership with Tennis Victoria and processing renewals and new memberships, as well as issuing keys to members.

A diligent and efficient operator, Sue has managed the day-to-day administration of the club and always ensured it was stocked with the necessities.

Congratulations Sue on being recognised for your significant service to the sport of tennis in Victoria and in particular the Ashburton Uniting Church Tennis Club.
