Tennis Victoria want to thank all involved in helping achieve such a successful event. To Susie for opening the venue early each morning and running the canteen, and Andy officiating over the two days, educating players on etiquette on court.

The 2023 Frank Sedgman Cup, hosted at Traralgon Tennis Association proved to be a captivating spectacle of sportsmanship and fierce competition over the two exhilarating days. We had twelve teams compete in the event with an equal number of regional and metro teams. A heartwarming note of gratitude goes out to the parents and players who rallied together on Sunday morning ahead of our playoffs to assist in drying the courts, exemplifying true dedication to the sport ensuring the event continued without a hitch.

Additionally, a special thank you to the diligent team managers who orchestrated the seamless flow of matches, guaranteeing that each match was completed with precision and in a timely manner.

We had wonderful sports trainers on site, Sarah, and Jack, who assisted players when required. Their efforts were much appreciated, and we received amazing feedback about their services.

Congratulations to Spirit of Tennis awards winners:

• Jaxon Eddy from Goulburn for exhibiting excellent encouragement to team mates and opponents and even clapping as winners flew past him.
• Alexander Hobbs from NEJTA for speaking nicely to the opposition and showing genuine interest in them.
• Alexa Thu from Goulburn for filing in for her team at 10pm on Friday night, she joined her sister Temperance and was calm and lovely all weekend on court.
• Esther White from East Gippsland for her ever-pleasant attitude and enjoyment of Tennis. She plays to win but also plays for fun.
