CEO Message – September
The Tennis Victoria Pennant Grand Finals commenced with the State Grade and Grade 1 Grand Finals coming to a thrilling conclusion on Saturday 2 September. Huge crowds attended the event to enjoy the electric tennis action, whilst others tuned into our live stream coverage. The successful State Grade season culminated in Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club winning the Women’s Grand Final, while Fawkner Tennis Club claimed the Men’s title. Congratulations to the Women’s finalists Harkaway Tennis Club and Grace Park Hawthorn in the Men’s on a great effort in the 2023 season and putting on a great show for the crowd of spectators. Read more about the Grand Finals and catch up on the streamed matches here.
The Summer Tennis Launch is fast approaching on Wednesday 11 October at Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club. The Tennis Victoria AGM will be held at 6pm followed by the Summer Launch from 7pm. All affiliates are welcome, and I encourage you all to come along to network and reconnect with each other as we look ahead to the Summer. We will have a variety of market stalls available to interact with and learn more about tennis programs, running your social media and local area marketing, strategic planning, safeguarding and more. You can find more information and register to attend here.
We’ve had a great response to the Victorian Tennis Award nominations ensuring some tough decisions for the panels to select finalists and winners. Finalists will be announced on 22 September, and we will announce the winners on Tuesday 17 October at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club. This is one of the biggest events on the Victorian Tennis Calendar, celebrating the contributions and achievements across the Victorian tennis community. We’d welcome you to join us, with tickets available for purchase here.
As always, please contact your local Tennis Victoria representative on how we can continue supporting you. We have made some structural changes to the team recently that you will notice on our contacts page. We have made these changes based on:
- Feedback from our stakeholders regarding how they wish to engage with us and the support they require.
- Aligning the structure with the TV Strategy and TA’s Game On strategy to deliver the desired outcomes.
- Our focus on venue performance to service and foster local club, coach, school and council relationships.
We look forward to continuing to service your affiliation and help create safe, inclusive and thriving tennis communities across Victoria.
Until next time,
Adam Crameri
