On Saturday 9 December, Tennis Victoria President Jacqueline Pirone attended the MCC Glen Iris Tennis Club presentation evening where she inducted a new Life Member and recognised the service of another outstanding volunteer with a Highly Commended Service Award.
Fran Graham is the newest recipient of Tennis Victoria Life Membership. Fran’s resume as a contributor to tennis speaks for itself and includes TV Board Director (1998-2004), member of the Tennis Development Board (1997-1999), Disciplinary Committee (1994-2008) and Country Committee (1991-1997). Fran was heavily involved in the competitions and tournaments space and was on the Tournament from 1984-1997 (including Chair from 87-97) and the Pennant Committee from 1984-1991 and again as Chair from 2001-2003. Fran was also a Council delegate from 1981 to 2004.
Awarded a Highly Commended Service Award in 2000, Fran is also a Life Member of what was then the St Kilda Tennis Club and the MCC Tennis Section and has also contributed time to the Fed Cup Foundation, Davis Cup Foundation and Tennis Australia Victoria Umpires group.

MCC Tennis’ Chiro Mukerjea was recognised with a Highly Commended Service Award for his contribution to tennis in Victoria.
Chiro was a committee member of the MCC Tennis Section from 1996-2016 (including President from 2014-2016) and was the President/Chair of the MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club from 2017-2022. Chiro was instrumental in the negotiations, planning and execution of the merger between MCC Tennis Section and Glen Iris Valley Recreation Club.
Chiro was the Pennant Chair for MCC Tennis section from 1996-2014 and has been a strong advocate and supported the development of top-level competition in the form of Premier League.
With over 30 years dedication to both MCC Tennis Section and MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club, congratulations Chiro, a deserving recipient of a Highly Commended Service Award.
