Thank you to those of you who tuned in to our strategy engagement presentation on Wednesday night. As the current strategy for Tennis Victoria comes to an end at the end of this financial year, Tennis Victoria is seeking feedback from stakeholders for the next version of the Strategy. If you missed the presentation, you can still view it online until Tuesday 7 May and offer your feedback via the online survey.
I was pleased to see the recent results from Tennis Australia’s marketing campaigns. Taking an ‘always on’ approach, Tennis Australia has focused marketing on Hot Shots, Cardio and Court Hire. March results for Court Hire are unprecedented, with casual bookings on par with Feb. March also yielded the biggest ever increase in casual participants, up 46% YoY.
Never before have we seen a March result that is so strong! Leads for Cardio and Hot Shots are also up which we hope Coaches across Victoria are enjoying the benefit of.
Prior to Anzac Day I attended the Ministers Roundtable. The Hon. Ros Spence, Minister for Community Sport hosts a Roundtable gathering of 10 State Sporting body CEO’s to discuss issues facing the industry. The focus of this meeting was to share insights and learnings to help empower and grow the volunteer workforce across community sport in Victoria.
Thank you to the Doncaster Tennis Club who invited me to attend their Centenary Celebrations in April. 100 years of providing fantastic playing opportunities to the community is something to be very proud of.
On the court we’ve seen the return of Tennis Victoria Pennant and State Grade, off court we’ve announced the finalists for the upcoming Victorian Community Tennis Awards. Congratulations to all finalists. It’s quite an achievement to be recognised among your peers. I look forward to seeing you all at the event on May 23. If you’d like to attend, you can book tickets here.
Don’t forget, there are many education and learning opportunities available to you year-round. Visit Learn and Serve to find sessions relevant to you. We also list all known Grant opportunities available here.
Please continue to connect with the Tennis Victoria team if we can assist with any of the above projects.
Happy Hitting
Tamatha Harding
Interim Chief Executive Officer
