Undoubtedly, the highlight for us in May was our Victorian Community Tennis Awards. Those who attended were witness to the amazing achievements of many of the community and the stories of their impact. Congratulations to all of the winners and finalists.
The Victorian Community Tennis Awards were staged to coincide with National Volunteers’ Week. It is always a special week to say thank you to the volunteers who are the heartbeat of our sport, but many of you know we love to recognise volunteers and impact makers in community tennis all year round.
Some great examples include our Community Champion of the Month winners and our Affiliates of the Month. These groups are all doing amazing things in their community. Click the links above to read more about them, there are some fantastic case studies there that many of you may wish to follow.
Volunteers are also recognised through our Service Awards program. Recently we presented Fiona Wilson from Belvedere Park Tennis Club a Tennis Service Award. Fiona is a stalwart of tennis in the Peninsula region and I thank her for her service. You can nominate worthy volunteers for Service Awards year round. Visit the website to learn more.
And finally, just last night at the Victorian Sport Awards, Tina Keown was named the Community Coach of the Year and Hayden Eastwood was named Volunteer of the Year following their win in our awards last year. Congratulations Tina and Hayden!
Happy Hitting
