A High Performance Day for all regional academy athletes was held recently – a fantastic opportunity for regional athletes to come to the home of the Australian Open for a day of tennis.

Storm Hunter shared her story with the attendees, telling of journey through tennis in Western Australia before moving to Victoria to continue her professional career. Her story highlights the ups and downs of a career in tennis and how the tennis journey is a long game.

Paul Mick from Victorian Tennis Programs and the Tennis Australia Coach Development Team  facilitated an on court session with the days theme being CONSISTENCY, ACTIVATION & INTENSITY. The intensity and work ethic over the 2.5 hours was high quality and a credit to all athletes involved.

The day was supported by the Regional Coaches: Jackson Varney (Barwon Academy), Calan McCarthy (Bendigo Academy), Wes Isles (South West Academy) & Adam Lasky (West Vic Academy).

Thank you to all involved for a fantastic day for regional tennis players!
