4 July 2024 | Tennis Victoria

And just like that we have started a new financial year.

You will have all received your affiliation renewal information.

The Victorian State Government and Vicsport hosted the Victorian Sport Awards on 12 June. The night is a fantastic event to recognise fantastic achievements across all sport at all levels. I was incredibly proud to see two of our very own recognised. Congratulations to Tina Keown (Victorian Tennis Academy) for being named the Community Coach of the Year and Hayden Eastwood (Castlemaine Lawn Tennis Club) for being named the Volunteer of the Year. What an outstanding achievement to be recognised in such a way across all sports across the state. We are very proud!

All Tennis CEO’s from across the country came together in June to connect and collaborate with Tennis Australia on the future of the game across the country. Discussion took place around how can we accelerate the various elements of the TA Game On strategy across our environments, the impacts of recent changes to labour laws and the progress of the Digital transformation project and its positive impact on the sport.

At the end of June, I was pleased to attend the National Sports and Physical Recreation Convention at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre. Attending with our Executive Leadership team and our colleagues from Tennis New South Wales, the conference was a fantastic thought-provoking opportunity. The sports industry has come a long way and is heading even further into the future as we see the impact of AI, partnerships and how we fund sport, participation and how we continue to make tennis a sport of choice while combatting all different lifestyle impacts that affect sport being a way for people to spend their time.

Please continue to connect with the Tennis Victoria team, especially if you need assistance through this affiliation renewal period.

Happy Hitting
