Tennis Victoria is proud to announce its groundbreaking partnership with Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS Vic). This exciting initiative aims to reduce waste, promote recycling, and support grassroots tennis communities across the state to raise funds.

Through this partnership, Tennis Victoria will integrate CDS Vic into tennis clubs and events, encouraging players, spectators, and the community to recycle drink containers while simultaneously raising funds for local tennis programs. The CDS Vic offers Victorians a 10-cent refund for every eligible drink container returned, providing a practical and impactful way to support both environmental sustainability and community engagement.

Kim Kachel, CEO of Tennis Victoria, hailed the partnership as a major step forward for the sport’s sustainability efforts.

“This collaboration with Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme reflects Tennis Victoria’s commitment to environmental leadership. By making recycling accessible at our clubs and events, we’re fostering a culture of sustainability within the tennis community. The funds raised will also go a long way in supporting grassroots programs, making this partnership a win-win for both the environment and tennis in Victoria.”

Marianne Doyle, CDS Vic Spokesperson highlighted the partnership’s broader community impact.

“The partnership between Tennis Victoria and Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme is an excellent example of how sport can lead the way in tackling environmental challenges. It’s not just about recycling containers—it’s about building a sustainable future for our communities, one tennis club at a time. We are proud to support this initiative and the positive outcomes it will deliver for both the environment and local tennis.”

The partnership launches ahead of the Summer of Tennis, with Tennis Victoria working closely with clubs to get involved with the scheme and engage the community in promoting sustainability through sport.
