The 2025 Victorian Blind and Low Vision Open delivered another exciting weekend of competition, showcasing incredible skill, sportsmanship, and community spirit at every turn.

This year’s event welcomed five international players Spain, Singapore and New Zealand, highlighting the tournament’s growing global appeal.

Number one seed Courtney Webeck (NSW) once again proved why she’s a top contender, clinching the B2 Women’s Singles title without dropping a game across the tournament. Webeck also partnered with Oliver Fanshawe to take out second place in the B2 Open Doubles.

Mikail Liakos made an impressive debut in the B1 Open Singles, defeating Victorian and doubles partner Tess Whelan in a thrilling tiebreaker 7(7)–6(3). The pair then went on to win the B1 Open Doubles, capping off a stellar tournament for both players.

More Standout Results:

  • Oliver Fanshawe had a strong campaign, winning both the B2 Men’s Singles and the Junior Singles Tier 1 title.

  • Michael Leigh had a busy tournament, taking out the B3 Men’s Singles, winning B3 Men’s Doubles with Steve Obeid, and also claiming B4 Men’s Doubles alongside Ross Patterson.

  • In the B2 Open Doubles, the South Australian duo Ethan Cook and Mark Haskett clinched the top spot.

  • Grace Hobbs dominated the B4 Women’s Singles and teamed up with Karen Papanikolaou to win the B2-B4 Women’s Doubles.

Congratulations to all players for their fantastic efforts and achievements across the weekend.
