21 April 2025 | Tennis Victoria

The 2025 Tennis Victoria League Championships took place on April 12 and 13, welcoming a record-breaking 82 teams and over 400 players from 21 associations across the state. Now in its third year, the event continues to grow—and this year marked a significant milestone with the introduction of a women’s-only division alongside the open-gender competition.

Held across four premium Melbourne venues—Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club, Beaumaris Lawn Tennis Club, MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club, and Monash Tennis Centre—players competed under clear skies and warm mid-autumn conditions, adding to the festival-like atmosphere of the weekend.

The Championships bring together open-age association premiership teams from across Victoria, no matter if they finished top in Section 1 or Section 20. Teams were graded into new sections for the weekend and battled through round-robin doubles matches before facing off in Grand Finals to crown the 2025 state champions.

“The League Championships are a fantastic way for association premiership teams to culminate their successful seasons by coming together to compete for something more—a state-wide championship,” said Tyler Krumholz, Associations Manager at Tennis Victoria.

“But even more so, they are a celebration of the importance of grassroots tennis offered at the association level, and an opportunity for players to enjoy their team camaraderie while meeting new people and playing at some of the best venues the state has to offer.”
