Green Ball Series
In 2025, the Green Ball Series (GBS) will comprise of over 150 tournaments throughout Metro and Regional Victoria. These tournaments will provide players with the opportunity to compete for GBS points throughout the year, which will go to their area specific points race, providing the pathway into end of year Area & State Finals, Super 10’s trials and Nationals qualification.
GBS Structure
The Green Ball Series will provide 10/u players with the opportunity to progress from their own localised area to state level representation. Players will receive points based on their finishing position within each tournament, contributing to their localised leaderboard.
Victoria has been split into two (2) Metro Areas and six (6) Regional Areas.
Metro Areas:

- Mornington Peninsula Region (MPR)
- Gippsland (East and Central Gippsland)
- North East (Goulburn and North East)
- North West (Loddon Campaspe and Northern Mallee)
- West (Central Highlands and Wimmera)
- South West (South West and Barwon)
Age Category
The qualifying age category for the Green Ball Series across all tournaments will be 10/u.
Tournament Structure
All GBS Tournaments will be singles only, one (1) Tie Break set, Round Robin + Elimination (where applicable). It is at the discretion of the Tournament whether they will add doubles, however, doubles will not have any points allocated to it.
Points Structure
Each Green Ball Series tournament listed on the endorsed calendar will be assigned the corresponding points for Singles.
- Winner: 250 points
- Runner Up: 125 points
- 3rd and 4th Place: 100 points
- 5th – 8th Place: 75 points
- 9th – 16th (in Elimination playoff’s only): 50 points
- 2nd Place in Round Robin: 30 points
- 3rd Place in Round Robin: 20 points
- 4th Place in Round Robin: 10 points
- 5th and 6th Place in Round Robin: 5 points
Point Allocation and Minimum Eligibility
A player’s points race will only go towards the applicable area / region that the player played in (e.g. A GBS Metro West, points will only go towards a players points tally for the GBS Metro West Points Race).
Players must meet the minimum number of tournaments to be eligible for Area & State Finals, as per the below table. A player’s best results in singles will count towards their points race total, as per the below table.

* Green Ball Series tournaments do not provide points towards a player’s De Minaur Junior Tour Points Race total.
Age Qualification – GBS Tournaments
A player’s competition age category and his / her eligibility to participate in the Green Ball Series will be based on the player’s age as of the last day of the month of the respective Green Ball Series tournament.
Qualifying Period
The points qualifying period for the 2025 GBS Areas Finals will be from Wednesday 1 January 2025 – Sunday 28 September 2025.
Area Finals and State Finals
Age Qualification for GBS Area Finals & State Finals
A player’s competition age category and their eligibility to participate in the 2025 GBS Area Finals & State Finals will be based on the player’s age on 31 December 2025.
All players should take note of what age category they are eligible to complete in at the GBS Region / Area Finals & State Finals.

GBS Region / Area Leaderboards
The Points Race Leaderboards will be published on the following dates under each applicable Area / Region.
- 3 Feb, 17 March, 1 May, 16 June and 21 July
The final points race leaderboard will be published on 29 September.
GBS Area Finals – Draw Sizes and Acceptance Criteria
Dates: Saturday 4 October – Sunday 5 October
Acceptance lists will be as follows for each region / zone:
- Metro Area Finals: Top 32 players as of the final points race leaderboard
(Top 8 players from each round robin group will proceed to the GBS State Final) - Regional Area Finals: Top 16 players as of the final points race leaderboard
(Top 2 players will progress to GBS State Finals, round robin + elimination playoff between group winners)
Players will receive an invitation from Tennis Victoria inviting them to their applicable Area final after the qualifying period ends.
GBS State Finals – Draw Sizes and Acceptance Criteria
Dates: Saturday 11 October – Sunday 12 October
Acceptance lists will be as follows:
- Top 8 players from each Metro area final
- Top 2 Players from each Regional area final
- Four (4) wildcards will be handed out at the discretion of Tennis Australia and Tennis Victoria
Players will receive an invitation from Tennis Victoria to State Finals after the completion of Area Finals.
