The 83rd CBH Group Country Week Carnival wrapped up on Friday 21 January 2011 for its 15th  consecutive year at Alexander Park Tennis Club.

Throughout the week, players from around the state competed in both singles and team’s events, fighting it out on court while displaying team spirit and great camaraderie.

The atmosphere and sheer appreciation for the game and the tournament was expressed by all players and recognised by major sponsor CBH Group representative, Lee Oliver who offered CBH’s commitment to the future sponsorship of the country tournament.

Singles finals concluded on Tuesday 18 January and were taken out by David Bignell (Kojenup) and Jennifer Krummenacher (Geraldton).

Team’s events concluded the tournament, with the winners of the Men’s Open from Bridgetown, Busselton and Bunbury; Paul Starkie, Simon Cockburn, Lee Hutton and Carl Parkin and the winners of the Ladies Open from Narrogin; Sarah Hennesey and Libby Hilder.

Even the heat on Friday, peaking at 34.2 degree’s couldn’t keep the crowds away for the final matches, with everyone out to support friends and family throughout the day.

This year’s Carnival saw entrants exceed those of the past two years, with more than 200 players registering to compete.
