Wembley Downs’ Matt Ebden has continued to soar up the ATP rankings and now sit’s just one spot behind Queenslander phenomenom Bernard Tomic, as Australia’s top ranked male player. The 23 year old overtook Victoria’s Marinko Matosevic in the Australian rankings after reaching the quartrefinals of the Aptos, California tournament.
Earlier this month, Ebden teamed with USA’s Ryan Harrison to take out his first ATP Doubles final, Newport, U.S.A. The pair edged out a colourful duo in Sweden’s Johan Brunstrom and Canadian Adil Shamasdin (4-6); (6-3); (10-5).
Ebden is currently ranked #139 in the world.
