‘Princess Lia’ Tapper graced the State Tennis Centre courts for Round 2 of the National Tennis League on Wednesday Night. The Thornlie Beauty Queen who was the 2nd Runner Up in the 2010 Miss Universe Australia contest, featured for Dalkeith as their nominated Wildcard.

Tapper, who competed at the 2005 Junior Australian Open and took out the Sri Lanka Tennis International tournament in 2004, took to the court in front of a healthy crowd on a ominous, brooding night.  Tapper found her return to tennis after a long break rather daunting, finding herself trailing her opponant Georgia Prendergast 2/4 1/0 before the heavens opened.

Matt Ebden returned for Wembley Downs and was too strong for UWA/Reabold’s evergreen Brett PattenJessica Moore overcame a spirited Storm Sanders in a hard hitting Centre Court tussle.  Miles Armstrong from Hensman Park, edged across the finish line just ahead of Peppermint Grove’s Brenton Bacon in a third set Tie Break.

Cottesloe tops the Women’s Conference, and Wembley Downs heads a congested Leader board in the Men’s Conference.

All eagerly await the debut of former World # 8 and expectant mother Alicia Molik next Wednesday evening at the State Tennis Centre.  Entry is free and the tennis spectacular.
