Casey Dellacqua is the first Australian through to the 2nd round of the Australian Open after blistering past her Serbian opponent, Bojana Jovanovski in the first match on Margaret Court Arena this morning.  Dellacqua was looking for redemption, after an inform Jovanovski knocked her out of the Brisbane International just last week in a straight sets victory.   

It took Dellacqua just seventy six minutes to bustle Jovanovski out of the 1st grand Slam of the Summer, with the West Australian sending countless backhands deep into the court grazing either tramline.

Dellacqua will now meet number three in the world, Victoria Azarenka from Belarus who disposed of Great Britains Heather Watson in straight sets 6-1 6-0.

Dellacqua and Azarenka have battled it out on court twice before, with Azarenka taking a 2-0 lead at present.

Australian Open 2012, presented by Kia Motors in association with ANZ, Jacob’s Creek and Rolex, will take place at Melbourne Park, Melbourne, from 16 to 29 January.
