Tennis @ Spearwood is set for a boost after Tennis Australia committed to fund 4 mini red courts fixed at the Hamilton Hill based club. The Mike Gill Tennis Academy currently operates from the venue and has been an integral deliverer of MLC Tennis Hot Shots, the Tennis Australia endorsed modified tennis starter program for the past 2 years.

The permanent courts are the first for Western Australia and the 2nd in Australia – promoting the club as one of the best equipped Hot Shots facilities throughout the state.

The addition of the courts has given the Academy the opportunity to build their Hot Shots program and develop the club within the local community.

“This is a huge coo for the club. To be the first club to obtain the courts is a big step forward and something the club and the Mike Gill Tennis Academy are very proud of. We’re all looking forward to expanding the MLC Tennis Hot Shots program and creating new opportunities for the tennis community at large”. Mike Gill, Director of the Mike Gill Tennis Academy explained.

The Mayor of Cockburn, Mr Logan Howlett will officially open the courts on Saturday 23 June 2012 at 12pm.

The WA community are welcomed to join in the fun and enjoy free court hire, MLC Tennis Hot Shots competitions for adults and children, cardio tennis sessions, a bouncy castle and many more festive activities.

MLC Tennis Hot Shots is just for kids. Children learn to play on the right size court using racquets that are perfect for small hands and balls that don’t bounce too high.

And they can play anywhere. Children can enjoy MLC Tennis Hot Shots with their friends or family at home, school and at their local tennis club – all you need is a flat surface.

You can find MLCTHS at more than 1000 venues or tennis centres around Australia. New programs begin each school term with sessions lasting for 30–60 minutes depending on the children’s level.

And as kids progress through each stage their confidence grows along with their skills as they master each ball and court.

With MLC Tennis Hot Shots, kids learn to play tennis the right way and develop at their own pace. Developed by Tennis Australia, MLC Tennis Hot Shots is the perfect fit for kids.
