Ash Barty and Casey Dellacqua have again shown their credentials as a doubles partnership, winning their first title together at the WTA AEGON Classic in Birmingham.
The formidable Aussie duo combined to defeat the Zimbabwean-Kiwi pairing of Cara Black and Marina Erakovic 75 64 at the Edgbaston Priory Club on Sunday.
The win follows on from their success at the Australian Open in January, where as a wildcard entry, they progressed all the way to the final and took top seeds Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci to three sets.
The win is Barty’s first career WTA doubles title, and Dellacqua’s second.
Both women are scheduled to contest the Wimbledon qualifying tournament this week in London.
