My name is Alex Geraghty and I have recently been appointed as the Community Tennis Places to Play Officer at Tennis West. Prior to my employment at Tennis West, I studied Commerce (majoring in Sport and Tourism Management) at Curtin University, before working in administration for a tennis coaching business and a tennis club. I enjoyed my time working in a club environment and have been inspired to assist clubs as best I can in my new role.
The role of Places to Play is to create quality, inviting tennis venues with appropriate management. A major focus of my role is to assist tennis clubs with facility developments. I can help with advice on court construction, finding contractors and obtaining funding through grants and rebates. I can also offer management advice to clubs and have a wealth of resources which may assist in this area. Clubs can also contact me with queries about affiliation and insurance, as well as purchasing tennis equipment through Tennis West.
