On Sunday 7th July Tennis West conducted the MLC Tennis Hot Shots Wimbledon Tournament at the State Tennis Centre. The MLC Tennis Hot Shots Grand Slam Challenge Event was held in conjunction with the Wimbledon Championships.
After much success with the previous French Open Tournament, the entries for the Wimbledon Tournament doubled in size with 83 participants entering over the three events; Red, Orange, and Green. All players arrived wearing their ‘Wimbledon Whites’ hoping to win the competition for the best dressed in each event.
Complimentary tea, coffee, scones, strawberries and cream were available to all the parents to support the Wimbledon theme. Additional courts were needed as a result of having such an amazing turnout and the grass was marked for the red ball event. The kids loved the opportunity to play a few matches on grass like their tennis idols at Wimbledon.
The event saw eight winners, one from each the competing pools. Each winner will receive an invitation to attend the Hyundai Hopman Cup Superclinic in December which also guarantees tickets to watch the day’s session of play at the Perth Arena!
