Scarborough Tennis Club plans to celebrate half a century of tennis for its members when the club turns 50 this year.

In 1961 the Scarborough Sportsmen’s Club put a proposal to the Shire Council to construct tennis courts and a pavilion at Abbett Park on Deanmore Road. On 5th November 1963 the courts and pavilion were officially handed over to the Scarborough Tennis Club.

Celebrations will commence with an Anniversary Dinner on November 9th 2013.

An Anniversary Afternoon Tea is planned – the date has yet to be set.

The tennis club invites all past and present members to join in this wonderful occasion.
