A busy day in Perth today beginning with SEMA Erika (JPN), number 2 seed winning 7/6, 6/2 over qualifier Australian Kimberley Birrell. Irina FALCONI (USA), the 3rd seed also going through in a 7/5, 6/2 win over KIM So-Jung. HSU Wen-Hsin(TPE) came back from losing the first set 1/6 to take the next two 6/4,6/1 against Monique ADAMCZAK of Australia. KUWATA Hiroko (JPN) also managed a three set win over wildcard Ellen PEREZ (AUS).
Australians Olivia ROGOWSKA(1) and Azra HADZIC played a nailbiter, watched by an appreciative crowd, including Alicia MOLIK, ending 7/6 and 6/4 to Olivia. Not quite the Australian Open masses that they are used to, but beautiful weather and happy fans.
