National Academy athletes, Jack Lyttle and Scott Jones have recently returned to Perth after participating in two Junior ITF Group 5 events in Gosford, NSW.
Scott Jones was a consistent performer over the two weeks reaching the quarterfinals of the singles in both events. Jack Lyttle lost a tight three set match against the number one seed in the first tournament and made it through to the semi finals of the singles in the second event.
Both players will gain confidence and valuable ranking points following the two events and will now set their sights on the December Showdown in Melbourne towards the end of the year.
Megan Kauffman and Sara Stikic teamed up and made it through to the quarterfinals of the doubles event of the second tournament.
State Coach, Len Cannell ran a duty of care tour for the events and along with fellow WA coaches; Laura Bugg, Peter Schoolkate, Brad Dyer, John Roberts and John Thorpe was present at the Sydney Nationals the week earlier.
