Australian duo Ash Barty and Casey Dellacqua have been nominated in the Doubles Team of the Year category for the upcoming WTA Awards.
The pair, who reached three Grand Slam finals in 2013, have been nominated alongside Italians Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, and the Taiwanese-Chinese team of Su-Wei Hsieh and Peng Shuai.
“Nominated for WTA Doubles Team of the Year! Thanks partner! @caseydellacqua,” Barty posted on Instagram.
Errani and Vinci beat Barty and Dellacqua in the Australian Open final, while Hsieh and Peng bested them in the Wimbledon finale.
The Aussies also reached the final at Flushing Meadows, narrowly pipped by Czechs Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka.
It was overall a brilliant season for the relatively new combination; Barty and Dellacqua only teamed up in 2012.
The pair gelled instantaneously, and in addition to their three Grand Slam finals appearances in 2013, also won the WTA title in Birmingham.
The WTA will announce the winning doubles team on Friday 22 November.
