17 December 2013 | Tennis West
Clubs are reminded that Club Health Check submissions for the 2012/2013 financial year are now open.
All clubs that complete the Club Health Check prior to the closing date of 31st March 2014 will receive an Australian Open towel (valued at $59) for their club, as well as an Australian Open towel for the individual who completed the survey.
Club Health Checks are a useful tool that enables clubs to benchmark the performance of their tennis facility against other similar clubs. Tennis West strongly encourages clubs to complete the survey, in order to identify strengths and areas for improvement. The indicators will become a critical tool for facility operators, Tennis West, Government and Tennis Australia in determining where best to allocate resources and assistance.
Affiliate and club benefits include:
- Benchmarking becomes part of the business and action planning process, which will help improve management
- Invites research and recognition if a facility is below or above industry standards
- Provides the club with leverage for stakeholder assistance; for example, local government grants
In order to accurately complete the Club Health Check, clubs will require the following information:
- Detailed profit loss statement (2012/2013)
- Total membership numbers
- Coaching participant numbers per week
- Total number of players per week (excluding coaching)
- Operating/opening hours
- Weekly court booking sheet from 2012/2013 or knowledge of weekly court usage, in particular:
Average weekly coaching hours
Average of weekly members casual hours
Average of weekly casual court hire hours
Average of weekly tournament hours
Average of weekly competition hours
Average weekly function hire hours
