18 December 2013 | Tennis West
On Friday 6th December, Kingsley Primary School celebrated the official opening of its eight new multi-marked MLC Tennis Hot Shots courts.
Community Tennis staff Paul Oldfield and Alex Geraghty represented Tennis West at the event, which was also attended by over 300 Kingsley students and teachers and Hopman Cup’s Olwen Dawson. School Principal Matt O’Mara cut a ribbon to officially open the courts and thanked Tennis Australia, Tennis West and contractor West Coast Synthetic Surfaces for their assistance with the project.
Tennis West provided a variety of giveaways and students had their photo taken with the Hyundai Hopman Cup trophy.
A National Schools Partnership Program (NSPP) school, Kingsley is the first Western Australian school to construct dedicated MLC Tennis Hot Shots courts. Tennis Australia contributed funding to the project through the National Court Rebate Program for Schools and MLC Tennis Hot Shots.
