The 2014 Western Australian Professional Development workshop will take place on Monday 7 April 2014 and places are filling up fast.

Presentations by

GaryGary Stickler– Director of Coaching at LifeTime Tennis and was the Former Tennis Queensland Director of Coaching. Australian Coach of the year 2005/ 2006 and Coach of a number of Australian Internationals including Pat Rafter and Scott Draper.

Gary will be presenting on ‘Developing Functional Tennis Players’. The presentation will have specific emphasis on perception and preparation as well as practical examples of developing fundamentals.

Gary will also be doing a presentation & question & answer session on his time as Pat Rafter’s coach.

 

LynLyn Foreman- Lyn Foreman- former champion hurdler who competed for Western Australia and Australia from 1979 to 1982. As an athlete she won the Australian Open 400 metres hurdles title four times and held the Australian and New Zealand Open records. She represented Australia at the World Championships, two World Cups, Commonwealth Games and the Pacific Conference Games.

Lyn was awarded the Australian Sports Medal for “Outstanding service as an international athlete and since as a coach and team official”. From 1993-2012, Lyn worked at the West Australian Institute of Sport initially as Senior Track Coach and in 2006 was appointed Head Coach – Track Athletics at WAIS. Currently Lyn is the National Junior Hurdles Coach – She has been a team coach for the World Youth (2013) and World Junior (2012) Teams.

Lyn’s philosophy as an athlete is you can achieve anything you want to – you just need time, patience, consistency and perseverance.

DavidDavid Phillips- Professional Development Coordinator at Tennis Australia.

Prior to joining Tennis Australia David was a Performance Coach and Curriculum Consultant at Baseline Performance in Canada.

David will be presenting on ‘Creating Professional Development Plans’

 

LenLen Cannell– Western Australia National Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach.

Has worked with Monica Seles, Alicia Molik and Casey Dellacqua.

Len will be presenting on ‘Developing Movement Skills in Tennis’- on court presentation.
