The 2014 Return of Service Cocktail Function was held on Friday 9 May at the State Tennis Centre, and not even the bad weather and rain could keep the 225 guests from attending this event! 124 volunteers from 32 different clubs, along with 35 Brikmakers Tennis League MVPs, 100 club members, sponsors, Tennis West Life Members and VIPs all packed into the Open Deck and Café for what was a fantastic celebration of all facets of tennis.

Guests were treated to a fabulous array of food thanks to the event sponsor, Showcase Catering, who provided a huge selection of delicious cocktail food and desserts right throughout the evening.

All volunteers who attended the event were given the opportunity to win a fantastic door prize, consisting of box tickets to the Final of the Hopman Cup and a weekend stay at Crown Metropol complete with dinner vouchers and massages! Club volunteer, Michael Crisp from the Cockburn Tennis Club was the lucky winner of this fabulous package and went home a very happy man!

The event was also an opportunity to re-launch the Tennis West 100 Club for the 2014/15 year. 100 Club founder, and legend of the game, Arthur Marshall OAM spoke at the function about the origins and events of the 100 Club and was successful in encouraging many of the attending guests to join the club for the coming year.

All new and existing 100 Club Members were also placed into the draw to win 2 tickets to the 2015 Hopman Cup, this prize was drawn on the night, with the winner being Higgins Park Tennis Club. The next draw will take place in August.

The presentation of the MVPs trophies from the 2013/14 Brikmakers Tennis League was also held at the Return of Service Cocktail Function. 35 MVPs and their guests attended this presentation and took the opportunity to celebrate the end of the Summer Tennis Season with some drinks and great company!

Tennis West would like to thank everyone who attended this event, the turnout was phenomenal and the feedback has been extremely positive. Given this response, we hope to make this event a regular fixture on the Tennis West Calendar of Events!
