Since the 2013 Governors Charity Tennis Day held at Cottesloe Tennis Club whereby a portion of the funding raised was given to support Indigenous tennis, Tennis West has maintained its strong relationship with Darren Patten from the Murlpirrmarra Connection. Since this relationship has been forged, Tennis West Community Tennis team, have worked closely with Darren’s links at Perth’s Clontarf Indigenous College and supported their student’s tennis development throughout term 2.

Tennis West has provided 23 of their students with professional coaching, held an Introduction to ANZ Tennis Hot Shots coaching course and ran a workshop focusing on the basic rules and etiquette of the game, finishing with a tennis tournament at the State Tennis Centre.

Tennis West would like to thank the Murlpirrmarra Connection and Perth’s Clontarf Indigenous College and hopes this relationship can build each year.
