Western Australian athletes – Scott Jones, Maddison Inglis and Anja Dokic competed in the Australian Open Junior event at Melbourne Park in January. Unfortunately none of the Western Australian’s were able to pass the first round going down to international opponents.

Christian Sigsgaard (DEN) def Scott Jones 6-1, 6-3
Maddison Inglis was awarded a number of opportunities to gain some valuable experience on the women’s tour after receiving wildcards into the qualifying event of the WTA Hobart International event and the Australian Open Women’s qualifying event. Maddison then teamed up with her partner Alex Nancarrow (ACT) in the Australian Open Women’s doubles event losing 6/4 6/1 to Julia Goerges and Anna-Lena Groenefeld from Germany. Goerges and Groenefeld then went on to reach the semi finals.
