26 February 2015 | Tennis West
FORUM OVERVIEW
The Board and Staff at Tennis West would like to thank the club representatives who attended the first Club Forum of 2015 on Friday, 20 February.
70 attendees from 32 different clubs attended the Forum at the State Tennis Centre, with the focus being on ‘Growing Great Clubs’.
New CEO, Geoff Quinlan gave an update on new tennis initiatives and programs, including Tennis Connect. He also spoke about Tennis West’s Vision of Growing Great Clubs, and the strategy implemented to achieve this.
Tennis Australia Manager for Clubs and Community, Travis Atkinson delivered a presentation on the Vision for Clubs, including the new online court booking system currently in development.
Tennis West and Tennis Australia staff were also available post-forum for guests to raise any questions and issues, and book in a meeting time with the relevant staff member.
The feedback from attendees has been very positive so far, and confirms it was a worthwhile Forum.
The presentations delivered at the Forum are available on the links provided below. A video recording will also be made available in the coming weeks.
This will be the first of many forums held throughout the year, which will be tailored to suit the major issues facing tennis clubs in WA. Stay tuned for more information about our next event…..

MESSAGE FROM THE CEO, GEOFF QUINLAN
Thanks to everyone who attended the Growing Great Clubs Forum, it was terrific to meet so many passionate tennis people, I look forward to meeting with as many tennis players, coaches, administrators and parents as possible in the coming weeks and months.
It’s a particularly busy time for tennis in the West with the continuing role out of affiliation reform that reduces the barriers to clubs affiliating to tennis.
Tennis Connect, which is connecting the tennis community, providing national value for players to connect to tennis, remains a critical focus. Tennis Connect provides value for clubs, coaches and schools who connect their players to tennis and provides them with rewards for doing so. The opportunity to be rewarded with $5 for every verified player, whether they are members, competition players, social players or coaching participants remains open until early April.
I’d like to take this opportunity to reinforce the focus of Tennis West:
• Growing Great Clubs
• Increased participation through ANZ Tennis Hot Shots, Schools, Clubs, Competitions and Coaches
• A world leading performance pathway
• Delivering a world class event, the Hopman Cup
• Securing the home of tennis here in Perth at the State Tennis Centre
We hope that you’ve enjoyed the start of the 2015 tennis year and, as always, I encourage you to contact Tennis West for any assistance we may be able to provide to your club, centre, coach or association.
– Geoff Quinlan
