Tennis West, proudly supported by the CBH Group, visited the Moore and Central Districts to deliver the CBH Group Term 1 Tennis Tour and promote the WA Country Championships. Tennis West delivered Tennis Australia’s National Tennis Program, ANZ Tennis Hot Shots (ANZTHS) to students at Calingiri Primary School, Bolgart Primary School, Yerecoin Primary School, Cadoux Primary School, Koorda Primary School and Wyalkatchem District High School.
Community Tennis Officers, Paul Oldfield and Ardian Fazliu, toured the area and delivered the ANZTHS program to over 200 students, ranging from Kindergarten through to those in Grade 7. All students actively participated in the ANZTHS program and were gifted a ‘Play Anywhere Net’, that allows children to create a 3metre tennis net for use anywhere imaginable.
Tennis West also visited Wyalkatchem Tennis Club to deliver both an adult and junior coaching session. Club President, Marcus Reiley, club members and an army of young juniors, totaling 30 participants, turned out to enjoy the evening of tennis. In addition, flyers and entry information to the WA Country Championships were handed out at each town, with information pinned on local tennis club noticeboards and to be placed in school newsletters.
In summary, Tennis West would like to thank the CBH Group for their continued support and financial contributions to the promotion of the ANZ Tennis Hot Shots program to students in primary schools all across Western Australia. Without their generous support, Tennis West’s ability to increase the participation levels of tennis in WA would be severely impacted and it is a testament to their dedication that tennis is accessible to such a large number of communities.
