The 2015 Return of Service Cocktail Function was held on Friday 1 May on the Marquee Court at the State Tennis Centre, with a record attendance of 265 guests, including 145 volunteers from 38 different clubs, 50 Summer Tennis League MVPs with their partners, sponsors, board members, Tennis West Life Members and VIPs. The event was largely a thank you to all of the dedicated club volunteers in WA, as well as a chance to celebrate the success of all of the Tennis League MVP players in the 2014/15 summer season.
Guests were treated to a fabulous array of food thanks to the event sponsor, Showcase Catering, who provided a huge selection of delectable cocktail food and desserts right throughout the evening. The soulful sounds of solo singer, James Wilson, also kept guests entertained (and dancing!) throughout the evening.
All volunteers who attended the event were given the opportunity to win a fantastic door prize, consisting of box tickets to the Final of the Hopman Cup and a weekend stay at Crown Metropol complete with dinner vouchers and champagne on arrival! Volunteers were put through their paces in order to win this prize, having to progress through a series of ‘Minute to Win it’ challenges in order to be crowed the eventual champion Club volunteer, Lino de Braganca from the Willetton Tennis Club was the lucky winner of this fabulous package and went home a very happy man!
Tennis West would like to thank everyone who attended this event, the turnout was phenomenal and the feedback has been extremely positive. We would also like to thank our event MC’s, Brett & Darren Patten and Bojana Bobusic, who did an amazing job of entertaining the guests throughout the event.
