The Sorrento Tennis Club recently hosted the 2015 City of Joondalup Junior Hard Court Tournament during the school holidays from Friday 10th – Monday 13th July. This Silver Series Tournament was generously sponsored by the City of Joondalup in recognition of the benefits it brings to our developing juniors and the local tennis community.
The Tournament offered Australian Ranking points for 12, 14, 16 and 18 year age groups of both genders and included non ranking point events for children aged 10 years and under. There were 235 entries 40 of these from clubs in the City of Joondalup and entrants included most of WA’s best junior players.
After several hours rain delay on the first day, the tournament ran smoothly with fine weather and the finals were played on Monday 13th July with a display of very high quality tennis.
One of the highlights of the tournament was the Boy’s 10 Singles final won by the promising Sorrento player Kevin Herbert (see photo).
