Maddison Inglis was recently given the invaluable experience of travelling with the Australian Fed Cup team to their World Group Playoff tie against the United States. The tie was in held on a temporary Italian claycourt at Pat Rafter Arena in Brisbane.
The Australian team consisted of Sam Stosur, Daria Gavrilova, Casey Dellacqua, Arina Rodionova and captain, Alicia Molik.
Maddy’s greatest learning experiences came from watching the team’s preparation for the tie. Maddy was exposed to the professionalism and work ethic of Australia’s best female players during their training week and sat court side during the tie to help support the team. Maddy was present at all of the teams functions throughout the week and was able to build friendships with players that she has looked up to during her developmental years.
The Australian Fed Cup team has a positive culture and team support that will help drive Maddy to be part of the team in the near future.
