Nominations for the 2016 Bruce Cup Tennis Team are now being accepted. To nominate go to the School Sport WA website at www.schoolsportwa.com.au and complete the electronic nomination. (Click on Interstate). Nominations close at 8pm on Wednesday July 27th 2016.
This year the event will be held in Albury NSW from Friday October 21 – Sunday October 30 at The Albury Tennis Centre. The team consists of seven boys and girls who must be turning 11 and or 12 this year and are current full time students at a recognised DET educational institution. Each day consists of team play in the morning followed by The Australian Singles Tournament – an individual tournament in the afternoon. This event will have Australian Ranking Points and entry to the individual event is only available to those players who have been selected into the WA team.
Every player must complete a nomination form to be eligible to compete in the team. Trials will be conducted from 9am on Saturday July 30 and Sunday July 31 (if required) at the State Tennis Centre. Sunday pennant players are advised to notify me by Wednesday July 27 via email and will be required to be at the State Tennis Centre at the completion of their pennant commitment if required to come on the Sunday. Individual results from the past 8 months will be used to assist in team selection – please refer to Selection Policy as stated on the website. The selection committee has the right to grant direct entry to players whose results have warranted automatic selection.
