Tennis West invited 8 athletes living in regional Western Australia the opportunity to travel to Darwin as part of the, Regional Talent Development (RTD) program, supported by the Department of Sport & Recreation.
Five athletes, aged between 12 and 13 years old, accepted the invitation on the subsidised tour who included; Grace Fisher (Beverley), Kaitlyn O’Neill (Tarin Rock), Isabelle Plowman (Kojonup), Kennedy Taylor (Wagin) and Scott Tuia (Donnybrook) who travelled with Brooke Koenig and Paul Oldfield (Tennis West).
All athletes competed in both, singles and doubles events, across two AR tournaments; 2016 NT Age Championships and 2016 Darwin Age Titles from the 24th June – 4th July, 2016.

Whilst on tour, athletes learnt how to warm-up correctly, used match recording sheets and personality charts to track progression, encouraged to keep a logbook and learnt many valuable life skills.
