The Junior State League Finals were held on Sunday, with some terrific matches featuring some of the best up-and-coming tennis talent in WA.
In the Girls Final, reigning champions Hensman Park TC took home their fifth shield in 10 years after winning all 4 singles matches against Blue Gum Park TC.
Hensman Park’s Skye Royall defeated Tonya Glogowski-Watson 6-1 6-2 in a match much closer than the scores would suggest. In the number 2 spot, Hayley Burton defeated Ellyse Wilson 6-1 6-4, whilst Team Captain Jaime Edwards had a convincing win against Sam Yeats 6-3 6-0. In the final singles match, Caitlyn Napier secured the win against Belinda Jayamprakesh 6-2 6-3.
In the Boys Final, Alexander Park TC capitalised on their home ground advantage, winning all 4 singles matches against Hensman Park TC.
Alexander Park TC captain, Jerome Iaconi took out the first singles match 6-3, 6-1 against Tom Oliver, whilst William Shephard battled it out against Tyler Mizuhata to win in a tight contest 6-3, 7-6.
Reuben Giorgio won an epic three set match against Sebastian Dobbs 6-3, 5-7,6-3, whilst Reuben’s twin brother Oscar Giorgio was able to secure the win in two sets 6-2, 6-3 against Matthew Burton.
