Roger Federer has invited Perth fans to an open training session at Perth Arena. The 19 time Grand Slam champion will hit the Perth Arena centre court against Aussie young gun Thanasi Kokkinakis on Friday, December 29. Doors will be open to the public from 4:30pm with Roger Federer heading on court at 5pm. While entry is free, there are limited seats available, so make sure you get there early to avoid disappointment.

At last year’s Mastercard Hopman Cup a record 6,000 fans turned out to see Roger Federer at his open practice session. “Hopefully we break it and have more people come and if there’s less people that’s fine too. I just want to give people the chance to see some free tennis in Perth Arena” Roger said.

Roger touched down in Perth during the early hours of Thursday, December 28. He has been enjoying his free time, spending Thursday afternoon at Rottnest Island, managing to snag an iconic quokka selfie. “I thought it was going to be like a bigger mouse but it’s more like a smaller kangaroo,” said Roger Federer on the famous quokka. “But it’s very cute” he added.

Tickets for the Mastercard Hopman Cup are still available and can be purchased from Ticketek.
