South Perth Lawn Tennis Club is the latest club to join Book a Court having gone live in March of this year. Book a Court is an online booking system that allows anyone to access tennis courts to casual play.
Located at 107 Murray Street, Como, South Perth Lawn Tennis Club offers six Plexipave acrylic courts and four Macrocuri synthetic grass courts all of which can be hired.
“We decided to install the Book a Court system to get a better understanding of our court hire usage, to do away with having cash on the premises and reduce the administrative load on our volunteers” said Mark O’Connor, President, South Perth Lawn Tennis Club.
Book a Court allows our clubs to tap into the occasional tennis player market and capitalise on their participation. Seven out of the 10 clubs in Perth have found that the majority of their bookings came from non-members.
The AusPlay Survey (2016) indicated that over half of the people that play tennis are not members of a tennis club or do not play on a regular basis. This is a result of people wanting more flexibility in then they play, who they play with and how they book a tennis court.
Many casual users want to be able to book a court online from the convenience of a smart phone or tablet and not be restricted to playing during staffed hours. Did you know, the busiest day of the week across the Book a Court venues is Thursday and the busiest time of the week is 7pm on a Wednesday.
