Top WA juniors Derek Pham, Zach Viiala, Kent Yamazaki and Nathan Lim have returned home full of enthusiasm following an action packed match play camp in Adelaide hosted by the SA National Academy team.
The theme for the four days was TNT – “Takes No Talent” with sessions delivered to players on singles and doubles match play, mindfulness, well-being and sportsmanship.
The group were fortunate to spend time with SA National Academy Team, who provided invaluable on court coaching opportunities. In addition, tennis legend Sandon Stolle spent time sharing his experience and leanings from his time spent on the tour and his appearances in the 1997, 1999 and 2000 Davis Cup ties.
WA National Academy Manager Tom George said the camp was invaluable for the boys who gained a lot from the experience
“Making these opportunities available to our top junior players is imperative to their development,”
“They played a lot of tennis, spent time on different surfaces, learnt a lot about themselves and had some fun along the way,” George said.
