Number one seed, world number 117, and Perth native, Maddison Inglis, has advanced to the Final of the W25 Perth Tennis International #1, winning 5-7, 6-3, 6-3, over qualifier Shiho Akita (JPN), in a hotly contested three set semifinal, in front of a packed grandstand at the State Tennis Centre today.

Despite being challenged early in the match by the in-form Akita, home crowd favorite Inglis, proved her position as one of the games rising stars, taking the second and third sets 6-3, 6-3.

Flawless all week, and on a nine match winning streak following her fourth ITF title win at the W60 Burnie International, Inglis will now face fellow Australian, and number five seed, Destanee Aiava (VIC) in tomorrow’s Final.

With Aiava leading the head to head match up, 2:1, Inglis will no doubt look to equal the score, in aiming to claim her maiden Perth Tennis International Title and fifth ITF title under twelve months.

Inglis last played the Perth Tennis International in 2018, where she finished as a semifinalist, after entering the main draw with a wildcard entry.
