Looking to improve the wider community’s access to court hire and use, Kelmscott Tennis Club have installed Tennis Australia’s Book-a-Court technology which boasts the benefits of online court bookings and keyless entry.
The online court booking system, which provides online payment, keyless entry and around-the-clock court access via pin pad technology, is available to everyone who enjoys a hit of tennis. Court bookings are easily accessed via the club’s website, where payment is taken in exchange for a unique booking pin provided for pin-pad use at the tennis club gate.
The club will join more than twenty venues across metropolitan and regional Western Australia, who have already made the move to improve court hire accessibility to the wider community.
The project was funded in part by the Tennis Australia National Court Rebate (NCR) scheme, in addition to a Federal Government grant made available through the Sport Aus Community Infrastructure Grant scheme which supports small to medium scale projects.
The system, which has been active since the end of January, is available to both members and non-members, with a primary focus of encouraging greater accessibility and convenience to members of the local community.
Kelmscott Tennis Club President Darryl Maxwell says the club identified the installation of Book-a-Court as an answer to improving the accessibility of court hire, whilst at the same time increasing revenue for the club.
‘It was important to improve the courts access to the wider community whilst ensuring that there would be less demand on our committee members,’
‘Book-a-Court removes the burden of key access and increases our visibility on line and in Google searchers through the online booking system,’
‘It’s been well received by the existing club members and the wider community, and the club have been pleased with the results so far,’ Maxwell said.
Tennis West CEO Michael Roberts, says that Book-a-Court technology is continuing to prove itself as a welcomed game changer for clubs, by helping to remove the traditional barriers to court accessibility.
‘Book-a-Court launched in 2017 and it continues to prove itself as a great tool in removing the barriers usually associated with court accessibility,’
“The platform meets the needs of the modern day consumer and provides a convenient, easy, online platform to book and access their local courts. Club administrative burdens are reduced significantly and pleasingly, clubs continue to report on increase court hire revenue,” Roberts said.
