Professional Men’s tennis will return to the State Tennis Centre from tomorrow, when play gets underway from 7-10 July for the first of three UTR Pro Tennis Series events to be held in Perth.
Grand Slam Doubles Champion and Australian Davis Cup team member, John Peers will headline the field in WA, with emerging pro talents Scott Jones and Scott Webster expected to bring world class tennis to the courts of the State Tennis Centre.
With the UTR Pro Tennis Series events kicking off in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne last week, Perth will join Adelaide this week in hosting the country’s top performing athletes as they compete for a share in the $450,000 prizemoney.
Tennis West CEO, Michael Roberts believes these series are crucial in providing our WA athletes high-level, competitive matches in a safe environment.
“After the temporary suspension of professional tennis, we are delighted to be hosting a UTR Pro Tennis Series here in Perth”.
“These events are vital in providing safe and competitive match opportunities for our elite players in their home state, whilst allowing their results to count on a global scale” Mr Roberts said.

What is a UTR? Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) is an international tennis rating system that connects millions of tennis players around the world to help them find better matches locally. UTR reflects a player’s current skill level based on head-to-head match scores, and rates all players across age, gender and nationality on the same 16-point scale. Every player can have a UTR – from the pros to juniors to social tennis players.
