Tennis West is pleased to announce the appointment of experienced Commercial Lawyer, Ms Jo Quinn, who joins the Board as a Board appointed Director.
Currently engaged as the Director of Strategic and Governance Services at Edith Cowan University, Quinn also holds roles as ECU’s General Counsel and University Secretary. With extensive legal experience which spans some 20 years across both in house and private practice roles; Quinn will further compliment the Board’s extensive scope of business operation expertise.
Supportive of the strategic objectives of the Board, Quinn says she looks forward to using her experience to drive positive outcomes for the State Tennis Centre redevelopment project.
‘I am particularly eager to use the skills and expertise I have developed over my corporate career to support the achievement of the Board’s important key strategic objectives,’
‘I hope that my extensive experience in commercial negotiation, private legal practice as a merger and acquisition lawyer and broad based commercial experience will ensure that I am well equipped to support the Board’s current and future direction,’ Quinn said.
Acknowledging Quinn’s strong personal commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and her role in supporting the development of ECU’s Reconciliation Action Plan and other equity initiatives, the Board looks forward to drawing on Quinn’s experience in realising the diversity and inclusion goals of Tennis West.

Hailing from a long line of passionate tennis players, Quinn grew up playing on the grass courts of Alexander Park Tennis Club, going on to represent both her school and state as a junior representative player. With three children who currently play the junior tennis league at UWA, Quinn is keen to share her love for the game with them both on and off the court.
‘I enjoy sharing my love for tennis with my three children. They haven’t managed to beat me yet, but I imagine that it won’t be long,’ Quinn said.
Led by President Ms Jan Truscott and Vice President Mr Brett Patten, the Tennis West Board is supported by club elected Directors Mr Tony Cunningham, Dr Pam Cresswell, Mr Gwyn Dolphin, Ms Kate McNamara, Mr Colin Napier; in addition to Board appointed Directors Mr Rod Van and Ms Jo Quinn. Noting high-level skills, experience and expertise which spans all functions of business acumen, the group continue to strive for, and deliver on, good governance, innovation, strong government relations and the strategic development of tennis in Western Australia.
