Tennis West is delighted to announce its partnership with SEDA College WA, helping deliver tennis to young people around the state.
This partnership will see the launch of the Tennis West Sports Development Program at SEDA College WA. Delivered to Year 11 and 12 students, the Sports Development Program facilitates real life industry experiences and student opportunities through a range of match day experiences, community events, participation programs and work placements. This allows students to acquire the transferable skills needed to support future educational and employment pathways.
SEDA College WA partners with high profile sporting teams and organisations in Australia including Basketball WA, Cricket Australia, Fremantle Dockers, Netball WA, Perth Glory and West Coast Eagles. Tennis West is proud to be onboard as an industry partner and is excited to help young people thrive through sport.
SEDA College WA is a sport-focused high school for Year 11 and 12 students that uses students’ passion for sport to drive the way they learn, with exciting industry engagement opportunities and a ‘one teacher, one classroom’ model to make sure students and teachers are supported by their teachers every step of the way. With classrooms located in local community settings such as sport and recreation facilities, students learn by being immersed in their chosen industry and applying what they learn in real life situations and environments, combining theory-based learning as well as hands-on experiences.
SEDA College WA connects students’ learning experiences to activities and projects undertaken if working in a sport and recreation environment and explores grassroots coaching, athlete development, game sense, and professional development for future careers.
