Top four finals spots are still up for grabs heading into the final round of men’s and women’s State League fixtures before the semi-finals which start on the 11th of March.

The race for 2nd spot will be tight in the Men’s State League with Alexander Park just five points ahead of UWA. UWA (3rd on 130 points) play against Hensman Park (4th on 129 points) for a potential top two spot. With Alexander Park (2nd on 135 points) up against ladder leaders Cottesloe (1st on 168 points) a loss for Alexander Park could make way for UWA or Hensman Park to secure a home semi-final.

Another fixture that could change the make-up of the top four is Blue Gum/Midland who take on 6th placed Royal Kings Park. Blue Gum/Midland will go into the match with confidence, having defeated them 5-1 in round 3 earlier in the season but will need a miracle to secure fourth spot needing to win their rubber 6-0 and hope Hensman Park lose 6-0 to UWA.

In the women’s State League, the top four looks mostly secure with Alexander Park (1st on 165 points) only needing to win three rubbers against Dalkeith (4th on 94 points) to hold onto top spot.

Greenwood (5th on 83 points) will be relying on Dalkeith to lose their fixture and hope they can find their best form going up against Peppermint Grove (2nd on 154 points). In their two previous fixtures against Peppermint Grove, Greenwood have gone down on both occasions so finding a win will be a huge task.

The top four in both leagues advance to the semi finals played on March 11 with the top seeds playing the fourth ranked team on the ladder. The finals will be hosted by the top seeded semi final winner and played a week later on March 18.
