Rob Kilderry, the “Godfather” of Western Australia tennis, will host a squad at the State Tennis Centre for seniors (aged 30+) during August 2023.

As a player, Rob reached the third round of the 1962 Australian Singles Championships and was a member of Harry Hopman’s elite squad. At Nick Bollettieri’s IMG Academy, Rob rubbed shoulders with the world’s top ranked players including Seles, Sampras, Agassi, and Courier. Rob was awarded an OAM in 2019 for his service to Tennis.

Rob holds unique views on technique, views that were voiced thirty years ago and only recently being adopted by the world’s best touring players. Rob will offer technical options related to the players physical capabilities. He will debunk such urban myths as “punch your volleys” and “down together up together.”  Rob will challenge those players open to change and seek to improve their tennis standing.

Squad sizes will be limited to maximize playing opportunities, and ability streamed according to Singles/Doubles UTR. Players must commit to the four-week program.

Each Wednesday will focus on a particular skill, followed by doubles strategy.

Week 1: August 2 – Serve

Week 2: August 9 – Forehand groundstroke

Week 3: August 16 – Backhand groundstroke

Week 4: August 23 – Net play

Sessions will commence promptly at 6.30pm and conclude at 8.30pm. Refreshments will be available in the café following.
