Tennis West recently had the privilege of hosting an incredibly informative and practical forum led by ‘The Grants Guy’ – Keith Whelan.
Keith’s expertise in volunteer management provided clubs with invaluable insights into tackling the challenges of recruitment, retention, training, and celebrating our incredible volunteers, especially in the current climate.
Volunteers are crucial to the sport and play an essential role in keeping our tennis communities thriving. Keith’s engaging and insightful presentation left our clubs equipped with the most current and effective strategies to optimise their volunteer management processes.
Tennis West Club Development Officer – Metro South Megan Allen highlighted the immense impact volunteers have when effectively engaged and retained.
“The forum shared some extremely valuable insights and reinforced the critical role that volunteers play in our clubs and communities.”
“As a Club Development Officer, I urge all clubs to actively seek and embrace current strategies for volunteer engagement and retention. This collective issue is resonating across the board with many of our club’s biggest challenge being lack of volunteers, emphasizing the urgency to address it.”
“By learning and implementing best practices, we not only ensure the continued success of our clubs but also create an environment where volunteers feel appreciated, supported, and motivated to contribute their time and skills,” said Megan.
For those who couldn’t attend the forum or want more information, we encourage you to reach out to your Club Development Officer (CDO) who will be able to assist and share insights from Keith’s enlightening session.
A massive thank you to ‘The Grants Guy’ – Keith, for sharing his wisdom with those who attended and helping us elevate our volunteer management game.
Special thanks to Healthway for the wonderful Fuel To Go & Play recipes that we were able to serve to our wonderful stakeholders.
