With the summer tennis season not far away, team nominations for the Tennis West State League (TWSL) are now open for the TWSL 2023/24 competition.
In 2023, Tennis West will award six men’s teams and six women’s teams to compete in the 2023/24 TWSL competition.
If last year’s State League is anything to go by then this season is sure to be an exciting one. Last season saw big upsets and nail-biting finals with Peppermint Grove Tennis Club holding the shield up for the first time in the Women’s State League upsetting minor premiers Alexander Park Tennis Club.
In the men’s, Cottesloe Tennis Club broke a seven-year drought to claim their eighth men’s State League title over Hensman Park Tennis Club in front of a packed crowd in remarkable circumstances, changing courts mid match and winning under lights.
The TWSL has undergone significant changes over the past couple of years because of the need to reestablish the footprint of the competition to play a pivotal role in the development of our high-performance players, clubs, coaches, umpires and officials.
Tennis West has identified the need to continue to create a competitive tennis product that is going to drive the marketability and sustainability of Western Australia’s top tennis competition.
The nomination period will open on Friday 4 August 2023 and close on Friday 25 August 2023. Interested parties will confirm their intent and submit a detailed presentation or paper to Tennis West by Friday 25 August 2023.
